    I found this error, when I clicked on Installed button. I repluged USB sometimes, but the problem remained. So, I noticed that when the error occurs, it means the USB partition is not activated. So, I have to format it, and activate it. After formatting and activating the problem is solved. I follow the link to format and active the USB, so hope it will help you.

According to "Ventoy Disk Layout In MBR" (https://ventoy.net/en/doc_disk_layout.html) it is possible to reserve extra disk space at the bottom of the device for an extra 1/2 partition(s).

如题，可否在安装时自己设定分区？比如我要用一个已经分区好的硬盘做启动盘，目前会把整个盘格式化掉。我的理解是，只要安装到第一个uefi能识别的fat或exfat分区就行，另外加上mbr，这样还是能保证mbr和uefi双引导的。

一不小心，新版的点成安装了，直接把U盘格了。

能不能检测U盘，如果已经安装了，多弹出几次确认再安装。

记得以前有一个U盘软件，格U盘前，会弹出5次确认。

If ventoy grub2 boot code is not installed to the USB drive, how can I boot to Ventoy from another grub2 menu as there is no Ventoy core.img file present?

i.e.

1. Prepare USB drive with partition 1 and partition 2
   
2. standard grub2 is installed on USB drive
   
3. copy ventoy files from a ventoy USB drive to partition 2
   
4. MBR-boot to standard grub2 menu
   
5. Choose a grub2 menu entry to boot to Ventoy MBR grub2 on the second partition
