  Use Files (TXT, PDF ...) from the stick
Posted by: VentoyMic - 11-04-2020, 07:33 AM - Forum: Ventoy Discussion Forum - Replies (2)

Hello,
on my USB-stick I have several LINUX-Systems for tests and can easily boot each.
Now I want to add some files (PDF-Instructions or TXT-Results, which may be updated in subsequent sessions) on that stick, so that I can access it from each running LINUX.
How can a achieve this?
Thanks, Michael

  Search and boot Windows as default timeout image?
Posted by: Algernon - 11-03-2020, 05:28 AM - Forum: Ventoy Plugin Forum - Replies (6)

"control": [
        { "VTOY_DEFAULT_MENU_MODE": "1" },
        { "VTOY_TREE_VIEW_MENU_STYLE": "1" },
        { "VTOY_FILT_DOT_UNDERSCORE_FILE": "1" },
        { "VTOY_MENU_TIMEOUT": "8" },
        { "VTOY_DEFAULT_IMAGE": "VTOY_EXIT" }
    ],

   This is my current control from my ventoy.json with 1.0.27 not sure if it is correct. It exits after 8 seconds but I am being put into my boot options menu and stopped there instead of booting into windows directly. Is there currently any method or trick to boot directly into windows by default or could this possibly be included in a future update? My use case is that I have small usb I often keep in the laptop all the time for extra space aswell, so it would be very useful for me to reboot in a fully automated way.

   Once again thanks for your work and your many additions to the project over the last several updates.

  Different layout between main menu and submenus
Posted by: momosala - 11-02-2020, 07:38 PM - Forum: Ventoy Plugin Forum - Replies (1)

Hello,
Is it possible to have a different layout of the Main Menu (with the list of folders) and sub-folders.
For example, change the background page or the spacing between lines or the font size ...?
If so, where should the changes be made ?

Question Help editing a theme file
Posted by: Eliy970 - 10-27-2020, 06:10 PM - Forum: Ventoy Discussion Forum - No Replies

I would like to understand how a change in the default values causes a change in the theme, once uploaded a link that explains in the pictures how a change of each parameter actually affects

# GRUB2 gfxmenu Linux theme
# Designed for any resolution

# Global Property
title-text: ""
desktop-image: "background.jpg"
desktop-color: "#000000"
terminal-font: "Terminus Regular 14"
terminal-box: "terminal_box_*.png"
terminal-left: "0"
terminal-top: "0"
terminal-width: "100%"
terminal-height: "100%"
terminal-border: "0"

# Show the boot menu
+ boot_menu {
  left = 30%
  top = 30%
  width = 45%
  height = 60%
  item_font = "Unifont Regular 16"
  item_color = "#cccccc"
  selected_item_color = "#ffffff"
  icon_width = 32
  icon_height = 32
  item_icon_space = 20
  item_height = 36
  item_padding = 5
  item_spacing = 10
  selected_item_pixmap_style = "select_*.png"
}

# Show a countdown message using the label component
+ label {
  top = 82%
  left = 32%
  width = 30%
  align = "center"
  id = "__timeout__"
  text = "Booting in %d seconds"
  color = "#cccccc"
  font = "Unifont Regular 16"
}

+ hbox{
    left = 30%
    top = 95%
    width = 10%
    height = 25
    + label {text = "@VTOY_HOTKEY_TIP@" color = "blue" align = "left"}
}

+ hbox{
    left = 90%
    top = 5
    width = 10%
    height = 25
    + label {text = "@VTOY_MEM_DISK@" color = "red" align = "left"}
}

I have given here an example of such a file, in case I might not have understood enough

Thank you

  Ventoy and Large Disk Size with some computers/Laptops not all
Posted by: Egyptian Raptor - 10-27-2020, 09:16 AM - Forum: Ventoy Discussion Forum - Replies (2)

Ventoy plays we  with almost all computers/Laptops except about 10 percent of them where I get the Minimal BASH Grub where it says "Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported."

OK In my testing I installed Ventoy on a fresh Large FlashDisk 256 GBs and It gave the Mini Bash Shell.

I Then Burned MediCat (32 GBs Image) as an example directly on the 256 GBs FlashDisk and it worked normally without resizing or moving partitions.

I Moved the Ventoy Partition to the End of the FlashDisk and Bam it happened. Now I get the MiniBash Shell error. I am just asking for Ideas on what to do??
