Comparison of Iventoy and IPXE Manager.
#9
I don’t think iPXE Manager and iVentoy should be compared directly. These two tools serve different purposes. iPXE Manager focuses on network-based Windows installation on the Windows platform. iVentoy is a lightweight, cross-platform boot server whose main strength is compatibility: in my experience, it can boot over 1000 ISOs, without modifying the ISO, and it is very simple to deploy.
I’m also the author of a similar solution. My solution focuses on Windows zero-touch deployment and booting many Linux distros (it supports multiple Linux families, not tied to one fixed ISO). It was inspired by iVentoy: no ISO modification, 100% compatible with iVentoy’s injection file, supports Wireless HTTP Boot, and Secure Boot ON for official distros by itself shim, and unofficial distros by adding MOK. I’m currently also developing a Linux version.
So the right question isn’t which tool is better, but which tool fits your needs. Both can coexist. Direct comparisons like this often ignore the use case and don’t help users choose the right tool.
