Sticking at 'preparing for boot' usually means the initial loader handed off, but the actual image transfer is failing. Since it’s only the AMD units, it might be a driver negotiation issue. Try disabling 'Secure Boot' entirely if you haven't yet, and maybe test with a different network switch if you have one handy. Some green-ethernet switches don't play nice with the low-power PXE state on those newer AMD boards.
