Hi, I've found this problem too, it's related to the type of VHD you're using and how the partitions are disposed of.
VHDX don't seem to work well with Windows installs. I recommend to stay with normal VHD instead. Also, if you try to optimize your installation by removing the optional partitions that the Windows Installer creates during its setup, it breaks the system. I recall you can compress at least one of them, but don't know how.
On the other hand, that message can appear if you try to install some major updates for a certain Windows ISO versions, or if you the update became incompleted or corrupted during its download. I tend to download them manually instead of relying on Windows Update...
