VMUB only works with VBox 5 (not VBOX6)
VBOX5+VMUB + Ventoy USb drive with Ubuntu + persistence .dat file works OK for me.
I'm on Windows 10 so VBOX5 is pretty much unsupported there. VBOX6 is the only thing that works (and just barely).
