Booting from Ventoy for Rescue
#1
Hi,
the HD in my Toshiba Stellite Pro with Win10 and Fedora32 doesn't boot F32 anymore I want to use SytemRescueCD to try some recovery but cannot boot it from Ventoy (V 1.0.34  with -s and SR 6.1.7).

If UEFI is enabled I get:
no bootfile found for UEFI
maybe then image does not suppotrt X64 UEFI

If UEFI is disabled SR (with default options) starts but after some errors on ata1 (expected the HD has problems)
it stops with:
mounting /dev/disk/by-label/SYSRCD617
waiting 30 sec ...
ERROR device /dev... did not show up

and drop to a shell. The dir /dev/disk/by-label has no SRCD.. file, only
Recovery System T131360000B VTOYEFI Ventoy

I also used a Fedora Live iso but when I try "Start Fedora Live" it just sit there with a flashing cursor in the top left.

Any advice?

GiP

Which version of SystemRescue 6.1.7 are you trying to UEFI boot on your UEFI64 system?
https://osdn.net/projects/systemrescuecd...ses/6.1.7/
Obviously the systemrescuecd-i686-6.1.7.iso will not UEFI64 boot so presumably you are using systemrescuecd-amd64-6.1.7.iso ?

I tried systemrescuecd-amd64-6.1.7.iso and Ventoy 1.0.32.
I get same problem on UEFI64. Works OK with E2B (agFM).
Must be a Ventoy problem?

Yes, you are right. I didn't notice that by mistake I copied the i686 version in Ventoy. The amd64 version works, even if it start with a messed up graphic display, sometimes.

Thanks,
