 EFI Files on root
#1
Hello,

i have the newest Ventoy installed on Stick with some iso files. All is working but on boot menu, it shows me some efi files like: bootia32.efi or bootx64.efi.
But if i look on the root of the stick, there are no such files. How can i delete them or hide them?

These files are not in root, but in the \EFI\Boot folder on the VTOYEFI partition (which is often hidden).
I've never had this problem, probably because all my isos are in a \Iso folder and this directory has been specified in the appropriate Plugson section. In my case, i think that Ventoy only scans this folder.
Try changing the setting (change the option from 0 to 1) of the VTOY_FILE_FLT_EFI item in the Plugson menu. I think this should solve the problem.

What do you mean by 'boot menu'?
Do you mean the Ventoy menu?

Thank you for your help. But there is no plugson file. I scanned all files for "VTOY_FILE_FLT_EFI" but no result.

ventoyplugson.exe is not on the USB key but in the ventoy directory (in the same place as ventoy2disk.exe).
When you run this file, you'll access a configuration menu open in your web browser. VTOY_FILE_FLT_EFI is one of the configuration options.

The Plugson app is in the Ventoy install ZIP file that you used to install Ventoy.

Dig it back up, expand it and save it to the VENTOY partition of your USB stick.  There is no harm in it being there and it's small 18.8 meg for the most recent version. Mine is on a folder named ventoy-1.0.99.  It won't show on the boot menu.  Inside the install folder is the VentoyPlugson.exe, with the USB drive plugged in (doh!), run it, then tell it to START, this starts a web browser and opens the Plugson interface.  Make and changes you want to, the tell it to SAVE the changes.  You can also run the Plugson from your systems disk, you MUST have the Ventoy USB drive plugged in.  Again, just to keep it handy, I put a copy ON the stick in the Ventoy partition.

There is another app in this folder named VentoyVlnk.exe, read up on how to use it on the Ventoy instructions. You probably don't need to use it.  You can also create additional Ventoy drives from this same Ventoy install folder.  I keep it handy on mine just to have easy access.
