VDisk legacy boot fail with vhd but success with vdi
#1
test images: linuxmint-20.2-cinnamon-64bit.iso

if install mint on VHD, you can only boot on EFI;  legacy boot will loop into waiting for ventoy disk.

if it's not a bug, it is recommended linux on VDI and windows on VHD.  if so please update the documents, thanks.

Did you use fixed size VHD or dynamic VHD?
Only fixed size VHD type is supported.

I can confirm it works: I am running 64-bits Mint 20.2 Uma out of a VHD in legacy (i.e., non-UEFI) mode.
Idea When a post helps you in any way, please rate it. Thank you. [Image: rateit.png]

OK, Maybe it not comfortable with my motherboard (Biostar Hi-Fi H87S3+).
But it really works with VDI (Fixed Size) in legacy model.
I tried install Mint 20.2 with VHD(Fixed Size) twice, all boot failed in legacy model.

Yes, otherwise it could not work with VDI.
