Issues with windows vista/7 ISO's with ventoy - johnson - 08-26-2025 Hi, I apologise if this went in the wrong forum. Recently I tried ventoy to hopefully not have gazilion drives just to install each OS. I put the following ISOs on it which are known good: windows 7 home premium x64 vista x64 all versions sp1 vista x86 all versions sp1 windows 7 pro x64 After I got into the boot menu I selected vista x86 and I got blinking underscore when I did normal boot. So I tried wimboot mode but that resulted in the setup not being able to load some disk driver. I then selected vista x64 and it seemed to go smoothly until I got to the partition creation wizard. After it I got an error "setup couldn't find an valid partition table". I also couldn't boot any ISO in normal mode. All had to be booted using wimboot mode. I lastly tried the win 7 home premium x64 and I got an windows asking me to point to a driver for the USB/CD install disk. Hardware I used: Known good 32GB USB stick (no problems if I mount any ISO using rufus) NTT model 8581 Windows Vista era laptop (boots normally with USBs which only have one ISO written on it). Any ideas how can I fix it? This laptop doesn't support secure boot and the Ventoy USB drive was made without secure boot option. adult dating with privacy - arplebite - 09-04-2025 Live girls ready for adult chat and hookups. You may need to use diskpart to clean it and convert mbr win 7 may not contain USB drivers. You may need to find an ISO with added USB drivers. I have already wiped it by "clean" command in diskpart. As for the vista being unsupported, I just wanted to check if it's really not going to work. Let's focus on the w7 ISO now. Any ideas? |
