This is my test result with 08040343 version (in VMWare though)
ISO: openSUSE-Leap-15.2-DVD-x86_64.iso

It will show a  sda or sdb xxx   not sr0.

I didn't try 15.2 (latest version is 15.3). I can't understand why it shows you "sdX", cause that's supossed that IMG (ISO) is in hard disk, but ISO images as you know, are emulated as DVD/CDROM ("srX"). Maybe it's how VMWare manage emulated devices, not sure about it. Anyway, in your screenshot all is correct, independently of the name of device, cause it shows the distro name just after that device name, so in that case, system knows exactly where is the source of installation.

RE: openSUSE - Source not available - longpanda - 08-06-2021

There can be no actual DRV/CDROM srX in the system.
Ventoy only enumalte the ISO file as a CDROM during the bootloader phase.
When the kernel is started, all the devices saw by the system is the real physical devives (e.g. /dev/sda /dev/sdb ...)

Use the 08040343 version and when you get the error press Ctrl+Alt+F9 to enter a shell and run :

cat  /ventoy/log
