I have a 750Gb 2.5" drive that plugs into my computer that I would like to install ventoy on. it keeps failing. I though this might work. I could make a copy of a good ventoy USB drive with Macrium Reflect, then install it on the 750GB drive. Then adjust the partition sizes. Is it possible to install on an internal hard Drive that is not USB? I thought from reading that is possible but maybe I am missing something.
Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that install to HDD works, as I have a couple of systems running it.
I can suggest that -- if you can't make Ventoy work with your HDD but have a working USB -- you could use Macrium Reflect to copy the two partitions from the USB to the HDD, then resize the first partition without touching the second; report back if it boots or not...

After I posted I decided to try Macrium but it would not work. Just hung at 0%
I read article this morning about installing ventoy on a fixed disk. i tried it and it works. i removed the hard drive from my computer, attached the drive to an external USB adapter. Installed ventoy, then put the drive back in my computer and booted from it.

No need to be so complicated, LongPanda has added Non-destructive Installation and Generate VTSI file features to help you install ventoy in a subtle way.
Installing Ventoy on an HDD is surprisingly simple. You only need a few files to configure.
The video below shows the process after setup is complete.
